I was so happy! My girlfriend had agreed to marry me and we set about planning our special day. Many people asked me he same question, “How do you feel about doing your Speech”. While being ecstatic at the prospect of getting married, I began to worry about my Groom’s Speech and how I would be perceived by my friends and family.
Making a speech at a wedding is something that will not present itself to many people very often in their lives, and I wanted to make sure I was fully prepared and able to deliver a speech that would clearly say what I wanted to and make my Wife, family and friends proud of me.
I knew what I needed to say and what I wanted to say - to do justice to my wonderful wife - but needed guidance on how to deliver my message. I took a step by step approach to writing my speech taking advice from professional writers on structure, delivery and how to introduce humour naturally into my speech. I did not what to appear to be throwing in jokes and one-liners which would seem out of place both in my speech and at the wedding.

I made up a set of prompt cards for my speech; I wanted to address the crowd rather than having my head down constantly trying to follow my written speech word for word.
After the initial worrying, I was able to prepare and deliver a high quality speech which my Wife, guests and I were very happy with.
